Individual Therapy
Dr. O’Donnell works with individuals in a process of strength-based self-exploration to address obstacles and patterns interfering with individuals’ abilities to achieve their goals. This active and collaborative approach can involve working through past experiences that are impacting their ability to engage fully with the present. It can also involve bringing understanding to parts of experience that may be outside their awareness, to help individuals identify their emotions, needs, and longings. At times she may also provide psychoeducation and practical tools for managing symptoms and alleviating distress. Ultimately, individual therapy can help facilitate moving towards greater authenticity, self-compassion, a sense of life meaning, and deeper connections with others.
Couples Therapy
Dr. O’Donnell works with couples to clarify what they are looking for from their relationships, reconnect with their strengths, garner curiosity and understanding about one another, and identify and disrupt current patterns of disconnection in their relationships. Dr. O'Donnell helps each partner better understand how their emotions fuel their conflicts, and deepen their understanding of one another. Couples learn to express their wants and needs directly and with greater vulnerability and are supported through healing from painful experiences in their relationship history. Couples may  learn skills to communicate more effectively and deescalate conflict. Couples therapy often involves increasing intimacy, communication, connection, and trust.
